Time Well Spent Policies

Product Availability

At Time Well Spent we strive to provide a large selection of a variety of games. The products listed on our web site are typically available in the quantity indicated. Occasionally, due to high demand or production limits, we run out of stock of particular items. We do our best to keep our current inventory accurately linked to the web site, so that out-of-stock items will be indicated while you’re shopping. It is unlikely, but possible, that our web site will fail to indicate when an item is out of stock, and will allow a customer to order it. If an out-of-stock item is ordered, we will contact the customer immediately by phone and/or e-mail. The customer will have the following options: 1) Time Well Spent will hold the entire order and ship when the out-of-stock item arrives in our inventory; 2) Time Well Spent will ship the available items immediately (if the order included other items) and ship the out-of-stock item when it becomes available—Time Well Spent will cover the extra shipping costs for this shipment; 3) The customer may cancel the order.

Wait List

In most cases, when an item is shown as being out-of-stock, we will be able to restock it when it becomes available from the manufacturer. However, we can’t always predict when items will be available. We offer a wait list for out-of-stock items, which allows the customer to be notified by e-mail when a desired item comes into our inventory. Please note that you will still need to place the order after you have been notified that it is in stock.

Occasionally, games go out of print. These are manufacturer decisions that we have no control over. In such cases, we will not be able to re-stock these items.

Placing an order

Online Ordering

We are primarily an online store. Ordering online is available 24 hours every day. Simply select the game(s) and click “Buy Now” for each item to add to your shopping cart. For multiple copies of a particular item, enter the quantity and click “update.” Then follow the steps through final check out. To indicate a shipping address that is different from the billing address, uncheck the box below the billing address entry “ship order to this address.” A new field will come up allowing you to enter a different shipping address.

Phone Ordering

If you prefer, you may order by phone. Call 1-866-439-7239, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Mountain Standard Time. If you know what you want, simply tell us your order and be prepared to provide your name, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card number with expiration date. We will be happy to help you make your selections if you need recommendations.

Warehouse Pick-up

Local (Denver area) customers may pick up orders at our warehouse. Warehouse hours are generally Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. However, we request that you call first (303-439-7239) to ensure that someone will be available to help you when you arrive at the warehouse.

Product Condition

We make every effort to sell you quality products in good condition. If a product is damaged during shipping, has missing pieces, or arrives in unsatisfactory condition for any reason, please notify us. We will come to an agreement with you about how to rectify the problem by either replacing the game, providing the missing pieces, getting the publisher to replace missing or broken pieces, or discounting the price.

Product Condition Descriptions

New

A majority of the items we sell at Time Well Spent are new, unopened, unused games. We ship them to you in the same condition we receive them from the manufacturer or distributor.

Used – Excellent Condition

Time Well Spent occasionally obtains used games that are no longer in print or no longer available new. We sell these used games if they are in excellent condition. Used games are typically sold at a reduced price (even lower than our already low prices on new games!). However, occasionally used games may actually have higher value due to their rarity, collector item status, or difficulty for us to obtain. Time Well Spent will always offer competitive prices based on the value of the game.

Import (New)

Some games are unavailable from manufacturers or distributors in the United States. Time Well Spent offers a limited selection of imported games. The availability of imported games will vary. The cost to obtain and import these games requires that they be priced somewhat higher than domestic games. In most cases, an English translation of the rules will be provided with imported games.

Damaged Games

Sometimes games arrive to our warehouse that have been damaged during shipping. When this occurs, we offer the damaged games for sale at a discounted price. The amount of discount depends on the extent of the damage. The damage is to the outer box or packaging: playing board and other contents are in good, new, condition. These items will be designated on the web page as either:

Ding/Dent (Slight Box Damage)

The box has a small dent or scratch that is only noticeable on close examination and has not significantly changed the shape or appearance of the box. The price of the game will be discounted up to 5%. The discounted price will be displayed on the web page.

Box Damage (Noticeable)

The box has a dent or scratch that is noticeable upon examination. The price of the game will be discounted up to 10%. The discounted price will be displayed on the web page.

Box Damage (Very Noticeable)

The box has an obvious dent or scratch that is significant damage. The price of the game will be discounted up to 20%. The discounted price will be displayed on the web page.

Please note that game damage during shipping is random and unexpected. We do not purposefully stock any damaged games. Thus, there is no guarantee or even anticipation that a specific game will be available at a discount due to box damage. We also cannot “wait list” damaged items.

New Products

When new products near their release date, Time Well Spent will attempt to have them in stock at the earliest available date. When possible, we will post on our web site anticipated arrival & release dates of new products well in advance. This will allow our customers to order the new items as soon as they become available.

Manufacturers may change production and release dates for reasons beyond our control. In such cases, we will do our best to update the information on our web site.

Special Orders

If you would like to order a game that we currently do not carry in the Time Well Spent inventory, we will attempt to get it for you. Please contact us by e-mail with your request. We will make every effort to obtain the game you desire. We cannot guarantee that we will locate the item(s), so prices and charges will be determined after we have obtained your special order.

Payment Information

All charges are indicated in U.S. dollars. Time Well Spent accepts the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Credit Card payments can be processed quickly, and the order will be shipped upon credit card approval. We accept cash for local pick-up. Time Well Spent currently does not use Pay Pal.

Online Credit Card Payment Security Guarantee

You can shop on-line with confidence that your credit card information is protected. We use The USERTRUST Network to ensure that all credit card charges are private and secure. This system safeguards your credit card account number, your name, phone number, and billing address. The information you enter on our web site can only be read by Time Well Spent administrators with a specific password protection.

Sales Tax

Sales tax is only applicable on sales within the State of Colorado. Additional local taxes apply to residents of Broomfield, CO.

Return Policy

Time Well Spent will accept return of items if they are unaltered and in the same condition you received them. We must be notified within 15 days of receipt of your item(s) if you wish to return them. If the need to return an item is due to a Time Well Spent error, we will cover the return shipping costs. If the need to return an item is not due to a Time Well Spent error, we request that shipping costs be covered by the customer.

To request a return, please send an e-mail to games@timewellspentgames.com, explaining what you would like to return, and the purpose for the return. Indicate the order number in the subject heading. You will be refunded the price of the returned merchandise in the form of Time Well Spent credit, which may be applied toward a future purchase or toward an exchange item.

When returning an item, please return in the same box that it came in, or a similarly sturdy box. Use packing material to cushion the items and protect from damage.

In addition to the returned item, please include the box receipt or a legible copy and a brief note indicating the reason for return. If Time Well Spent is covering the cost of shipping, please use UPS for your shipment. Time Well Spent will provide you with specific instructions for your return shipment.

Security and Privacy Guaranteed Security

At Time Well Spent, we make sure your order information is secure. We use The USERTRUST Network Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, which assures that information is kept private between your web browser and our server. All data transmissions are encrypted so that your personal information cannot be read as it travels through the Internet to our ordering system.

Privacy Pledge

When you purchase from our website, we obtain the basic information we need to process your order. This information remains in your encrypted order page, and we maintain it private and secure at all times. It is necessary that you provide your name, e-mail address, credit card information, billing/shipping address and phone number. This information is used only for processing your order and keeping you updated on your order. Everything you submit remains private and confidential. We will not sell, trade, or give away your information to any individual or group. We will not send you unsolicited e-mail or direct mail.

Shipping Information

Shipping within the United States

Most packages will ship within the next business day from the time the order is received. If an order is received before noon (Mountain Time), it may be shipped the same day. During busy times, there may be a 2-3 day delay in shipping. Occasionally, our warehouse is closed for holidays and vacations. These dates will always be indicated on the home page of the web site.

Charges for shipping & handling are determined based on the size, weight and number of items that make up the order. Shipping charges are displayed on the Shopping Cart page before you click the Checkout Now button. The default shipping is UPS Ground. You may select other shipping options when your shopping cart is displayed. Once you click Checkout Now, the selected shipping charge will be displayed on your Pending Order.

We contract with UPS for our standard shipping. UPS Ground Service usually takes 3-7 days, depending on your location relative to our warehouse in Colorado (ZIP code 80020). After we process your order, we will e-mail you the tracking number and scheduled delivery date. Fatser shipping is also available at a higher cost. For faster shipping you may also select:

Faster Service Delivery Times

UPS 3-day 3 business days (Monday through Friday)

2nd day - 2 business days (Monday through Friday)

UPS Next Day - 1 busines day (Monday through Friday)

The cost for these premium shipments will be indicated on the Shopping Cart when selected. Please note that, in some cases, UPS Ground shipments will arrive in 3 days. In order to save you money on shipping, we attempt to notify customers who choose UPS 3-day when Ground Service will arrive in 3 days.

Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii

For shipments to Alaska or Hawaii, we use USPS. In your shopping cart, please select “USPS (Small Games/Package) – Get Quote” as your shipping option. A quote with up to 3 shipping options will be sent to you via e-mail. The order will be shipped after we receive a response with your selected USPS shipping option.

Shipping Discounts for Large Orders:

Our shipping policy includes discounts for orders over $100 that are shipped by UPS Ground Service. If your order of games, before shipping charges are added in, is equal to or greater than:

$100 - we will deduct $5.00 from our shipping price

$150 - FREE shipping

This deduction occurs automatically when you load your shopping cart. Your Shopping Cart will display the original fee, and the discounted fee. Your Pending Order page will display the reduced shipping fee.

These shipping discounts are only applicable for domestic, continental USA orders and only for UPS Ground Service orders.

In some cases, smaller shipments (under 2 pounds) can be shipped USPS Priority Mail or First Class Mail for lower cost than UPS Ground. For small orders, the customer may select “USPS (Small Games/Package) – Get Quote” as your shipping option. If this is selected, shipping costs will not be displayed in your Shopping Cart or Pending Order page. We will e-mail a shipping quote to you. Please note that your order will not be processed until you have responded to us after a quote is given. If you wish to have larger orders shipped via USPS, we can accommodate that (please select “USPS (Small Games/Package) – Get Quote” on your shopping cart page). This is necessary when shipping to a P.O. Box. Please note that shipping & handling fees are likely to be slightly higher than UPS Ground Service for packages larger than 2 pounds.

International Shipping

All international packages are shipped via USPS. International customers will receive a quote via e-mail with shipping options. In most cases, there will be three options:

Express Mail International(3-5 days)

Priority Mail International (6-10 days)

1st Class International (varies/not provided the USPS) (This option is only available on packages weighing 4 pounds or less)

Shipping charges vary according to weight, shipping option, and destination. There are additional charges for handling, insurance, and receipt confirmation. These vary according to weight, number of games, and the total value of the items being shipped.

PLEASE NOTE: Your shopping cart and pending order page will not show a shipping fee. This will be added to your total costs after the shipping option is confirmed.

Customs

All customs forms for international packages will indicate that they contain “Board Games” and/or “Card Games.” The total cost of the games will be stated on the customs form. We will accurately describe the contents of the package and cannot alter the description to lower customs costs.

Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your country. We do not have any control over, and cannot predict additional charges for customs clearance once the package reaches your country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you can contact your local customs office for further information.

Price Matching

At Time Well Spent we strive to provide the lowest prices available for each game. However, if you find a game for a lower price at one of our competitors, we will match that price. We simply ask that you include the name of the competitor and the price of the specific game in the comments section when you check out. We will confirm the price and deduct the difference from your total when the order is processed. Please note that we are not able to price match “free shipping.” There are a few games for which we will be unable to price match. This is usually indicated on the individual game page.

We are unable to Price Match games manufactured or distributed by Mayfair Games, Phalanx Games, or Haba games. The reason for this is that these manufacturers require us to sell products at a minimum of some price based on percentage of MSRP. There are some other titles we don't price match, usually this is indicated in the comments section of that game page.

Cancellations and Modifications to an Order

Cancellations

If you change your mind after placing an order and would like to cancel, please notify us by phone (1-866-439-7239) or e-mail (orders@timewellspentgames.com) as soon as possible. Notifications by e-mail should include the order number in the subject line (e.g., “Order #tws007275). Because we typically process and ship orders within a day of receiving them, cancellations must be made within that time frame.

Modifications

Changes can be made (games added or removed) if we are notified before the order is processed and shipped. Please notify us by phone (1-866-439-7239) or e-mail (orders@timewellspentgames.com) as soon as possible. Notifications by e-mail should include the order number in the subject line (e.g., “Order #tws007275). If the order has already been shipped, additional items must be placed in a separate order.

All About Us

Hi. We're Dave and Pamela Jones, owners of Time Well Spent, Inc. We and our 3 children are a family of avid game players! Dave's passion for games led him to establish the Broomfield Gamers group in our home town of Broomfield, Colorado. The success of that venture confirmed to us that many people love to play games. Recognizing the need to make a better variety of games available on the market (i.e., beyond Monopoly and Candy Land), we developed our web site to provide games for sale, information about games including ratings, reviews, statistics on our gaming group, and anything else we can think of!
